doesnt load my .ackrc

I don't see an advanced settings anywhere?
My haml files are not being searched with the ~/.ackrc contents
of:
--type-add=ruby=.haml,.rake,.rsel

Thanks, meanwhile I just changed the source to the plugin to look at haml rake and rsel when in ruby mode.
